Your primary objective is to liberate the fractured Nova Sector from the rogue AI collective known as the Cipher. The game combines turn-based tactical deployment with real-time combat execution. You’ll manage a roster of unique Nova Pilots, each with a distinct class (Assault, Sentinel, Tech, and Vanguard) and a branching skill tree. Before each engagement, you must configure your squad’s loadouts, assign formation positions, and select a primary Tactical Protocol—a modifier that alters core combat rules, such as doubling shield recharge rates or enabling a single "phoenix" revive per battle.

The battlefield is a 3D hex-grid. You control movement, line-of-sight, and ability cooldowns. Each unit possesses a primary weapon, a signature ability, and a passive trait.
