About game Epic Quest
What happens when match-3 puzzle mechanics meet full-fledged RPG progression?
Epic Quest delivers exactly that hybrid experience—a tile-matching battler where every swap determines whether your hero lands a critical blow or takes a hit. Developed by Banda Games, this RPG-puzzle fusion runs on version 0.1.6 and places you in a fantasy medieval realm where combat is resolved not through turn-based menus, but through gem-matching chains.
Core Combat Mechanics: Match, Attack, Survive
The central gameplay loop is straightforward yet layered. You face endless waves of monsters, and your primary offensive tool is the match-3 board. Every time you align three or more identical gems horizontally or vertically, your hero executes an attack against the enemy. The longer your chain, the harder you hit. Special attention is required when you manage to form a line of seven, eight, or nine gems—this triggers the creation of a special gem that deals significantly amplified damage. Given that enemies actively attack you between your moves, chaining these larger combos is often essential for survival.
- Match-3 combat with real-time enemy attacks
- Special gem creation at 7+ chains
- Progressive damage scaling per combo
Hero Progression and Equipment System
Between battles, you invest your earned currency into upgrading your character's stats. The shop offers four distinct equipment categories: shields, swords, helmets, and armor. Each piece carries unique stat modifications—some boost defense, others increase attack power, and certain combinations unlock passive bonuses. This RPG layer adds meaningful long-term progression beyond the puzzle board, giving you a reason to grind for better gear.
- Four equipment slots with unique stats
- Currency earned through combat
- Passive bonuses from gear combinations
Visual Presentation and Performance
The graphics are functional rather than flashy. The fantasy world is rendered in a low-to-medium quality style, which may not impress players accustomed to high-fidelity visuals. However, the game compensates with smooth performance on lower-end devices and quick loading times. The art direction leans into classic medieval fantasy themes with stone dungeons, forest paths, and monster camps.
