About game Dragons: Titan Uprising
The Battle for Berk Begins: A Puzzle RPG in the How to Train Your Dragon Universe
Dragons: Titan Uprising is a match-3 puzzle RPG set in the world of DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Developed by Ludia, this mobile game blends tactical gem-matching combat with base management and dragon collection. The game is built around a core loop of matching runic stones to attack enemies, collecting over 100 dragons, and upgrading them into their Titan forms. It is designed for players who enjoy the strategic depth of games like Empires & Puzzles but want to immerse themselves in the familiar world of Hiccup, Toothless, and the Vikings of Berk.
The game's combat system is the primary focus. You control a team of up to five dragons, each assigned to a specific color (Fire, Water, Nature, Light, or Dark). The battlefield is a 6x5 grid of runic stones. To attack, you must match three or more stones of the same color. When you make a match, the corresponding dragon on your team executes a basic attack. The damage dealt is proportional to the number of stones matched. Matches of four or five stones generate special abilities or charged attacks, such as area-of-effect damage, healing, or status effects. The enemy team is positioned at the top of the screen, and their health bars are visible. Each enemy has a specific color affinity, and using a dragon of the opposing color deals double damage. This creates a rock-paper-scissors dynamic that requires you to adjust your team composition based on the encounter.
Beyond the match-3 mechanics, Dragons: Titan Uprising features a robust dragon breeding and evolution system. You start with a basic roster of dragons, but you can acquire new ones by collecting fragments through gameplay, events, or purchasing eggs. Each dragon has a rarity tier (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary) and can be leveled up using resources gathered from your base. The evolution system is the key to unlocking a dragon's Titan form. Evolving a dragon requires specific materials, including dragon scales, runes, and other consumables. The Titan form significantly boosts a dragon's stats, changes its appearance, and unlocks a new, more powerful active ability. The game currently features over 100 unique dragons, with new ones added through regular content updates.
Base management is a secondary, but essential, component. Your village on Berk serves as a resource generator. You can construct buildings that produce gold, food, and other materials needed for dragon training and evolution. The base also includes a Hatchery for hatching eggs, a Training Ground for leveling up dragons, and a Forge for crafting runes. You must manage your resource production to ensure a steady supply of materials for upgrading your team. The base is also where you can view your dragon collection, inspect their stats, and equip them with runes to further enhance their abilities. The game includes a PvE campaign with multiple chapters, each containing several stages. Completing a stage rewards you with experience, gold, and dragon fragments. There are also limited-time events, such as the "Titan Uprising" boss battles, where you and your alliance can fight powerful world bosses for exclusive rewards.
