About app Mindjet Maps
You open Mindjet Maps and see a blank canvas, not a static road map. This is not about following a blue dot from point A to point B. It is about structuring the entire journey—routes, stops, and data layers—as an interactive, editable mind map. The app transforms navigation into a visual planning tool, allowing you to build, annotate, and share complex itineraries with the logic of a flowchart.
Core Navigation Tools
Mindjet Maps provides a dual-mode interface that combines a standard topographic map view with a hierarchical mind map editor. In map mode, you can place custom waypoints, draw freeform routes, and tag locations with notes or photos. In mind map mode, each waypoint becomes a node in a tree structure. You can drag nodes to reorder stops, collapse sub-routes, and attach metadata such as estimated travel time, cost, or priority level. The sync between the two modes is live: adding a node in the mind map instantly places a pin on the geographic map, and vice versa.
Key Functional Capabilities
- Dual‑view synchronization: Every change in the mind map editor is reflected immediately on the geographic map, and every pin moved on the map updates the corresponding node.
- Custom route layering: Create multiple overlapping route branches (e.g., scenic vs. direct) and toggle visibility per layer without deleting data.
- Offline node editing: Add, remove, or reorganize mind map nodes without an internet connection; changes sync automatically when connectivity resumes.
- Export & share: Export the entire mind map as a PDF, image, or text outline. Share the interactive map link with collaborators who can view or edit nodes in real time.
Advanced Planning Features
- Batch waypoint import: Paste a list of addresses or coordinates from a spreadsheet; the app parses them into individual nodes and places pins.
- Conditional logic for nodes: Set rules such as "if time < 4 hours, skip this node" or "reorder nodes by sunset time". The mind map automatically rearranges based on your criteria.
- Data overlay: Overlay real‑time traffic, weather, or elevation data directly onto the map, with each data point linked to a specific node in the mind map.
- Version history: The app saves every change as a snapshot. You can revert any node or route branch to a previous state without losing later edits.
User Experience
The interface is optimized for both touch and stylus input. Long‑press on the map to add a new node; swipe left on a node to delete it. A two‑finger pinch on the mind map zooms into a sub‑branch, while a three‑finger tap switches to the geographic map view. The app runs on Android 4.0.3 and later, supporting devices with as little as 512 MB of RAM.
We suggest trying the collaborative planning mode first: create a shared mind map for a road trip, invite friends to add their own waypoints, and watch the map update in real time as each person drags nodes.
Consider downloading this app if you need to plan multi‑stop itineraries, manage complex field operations, or simply prefer visual, non‑linear thinking over traditional list‑based navigation.
Internet required for real‑time map tiles and live collaboration. In‑app purchases available for advanced export formats and unlimited node history.
